Concentrix (CNXC) Q3 2026 earnings: revenue declines, margin rises

Summary
Concentrix constant currency revenue fell 0.5% in fiscal Q3 2026, below guidance, while its non-GAAP operating margin rose to 12.6% and full-year cash flow guidance held.
Concentrix (CNXC) reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 earnings on September 29, 2026, in an 8-K earnings release covering the quarter ended August 31: revenue came in weaker than company guidance, while profit beat and cash met expectations [1]. Three questions had framed the company going into the quarter: whether the revenue gap from clients moving work offshore would widen, whether margins would recover after restructuring, and whether second-half cash would support debt repayment. Constant currency revenue fell 0.5%, below the 0.0% to 1.0% guidance range [1][2], and the company cut its full-year constant currency guidance to a decline of 0.8% to 0.3%. The non-GAAP operating margin rose to 12.6%, above guidance, and full-year cash flow guidance was unchanged [1]. Taken together, revenue is shrinking while margin and cash are holding, which weakens the growth case and strengthens the profit conversion case.
Concentrix is one of the largest customer experience outsourcing and technology services providers in the world, handling customer service, sales and other customer contact work for more than 2,000 companies [3]. About 99% of its revenue is recognized based on staffing hours or the number of client customer transactions handled at contractual rates [4], so client volumes and delivery location directly drive revenue.
Revenue turned to decline as large clients cut volume
Third-quarter revenue was $2.454 billion, down 1.2% year over year as reported and down 0.5% in constant currency, after growing 0.6% in the second quarter [1][5]. Technology and consumer electronics revenue fell 10% year over year, compared with a 5.8% decline in the second quarter [1][6]. Healthcare fell 17%, communications and media fell 7%, and retail, travel and e-commerce growth slowed to 6%. Only banking, financial services and insurance still grew 12% [1]. The growing industries are no longer enough to offset the shrinking ones.
Management said the larger decline came mainly from lower client volumes, and that the offshoring effect did not widen further [7]. Offshoring still weighs on growth by about 3% this year. The new pressure comes from two hyperscale cloud clients that moved earlier to cut support for certain customer sets, with the impact concentrated in the fourth quarter of 2026 and extending into the first half of 2027 [7]. Management also said AI automation is being deployed faster than expected, compressing traditional work. Both are volume losses, and unlike offshoring they will not improve margins once a transition ends.
This change lowered the full-year revenue outlook. The company guided fourth-quarter constant currency revenue to a decline of 3% to 5%, the weakest quarter of the year [1]. Management said new business won in the past three years totals about $5 billion, more than half of revenue, with expected growth of about 30% [7]. That figure is a management classification and cannot be reconciled line by line with reported revenue. The company said consistent mid-single-digit growth may not arrive until 2028 [7].
Margin rose even as revenue fell
Third-quarter non-GAAP operating income was $309.0 million, a 12.6% margin, above the $295 million to $305 million guidance and 0.7 percentage point higher than the second quarter's 11.9% [1][2][5]. Revenue fell year over year while this profit grew 1.3%, so the margin gain came mainly from lower costs rather than scale. Based on company figures, gross margin was 34.6%, above 34.4% a year earlier, and GAAP selling, general and administrative expenses were flat year over year [1].
Restructuring stayed on plan. Third-quarter acquisition-related, integration and restructuring expenses were $42.5 million, below the $45 million budget, and the company cut its fourth-quarter budget to $30 million [1][2]. The company narrowed full-year non-GAAP operating income guidance to $1,206 million to $1,216 million and guided fourth-quarter non-GAAP operating income to $310 million to $320 million, a margin of about 12.9% [1]. That fourth-quarter margin has to be delivered while revenue falls 3% to 5%, so it remains guidance. The company also recorded a $1.05 billion non-cash goodwill impairment, tied to the trading range of its stock price and market capitalization; the charge is excluded from non-GAAP results and does not affect current-period cash [1].
Cash progress met the plan. Third-quarter adjusted free cash flow was $218.3 million, 22% higher than a year earlier, the factoring balance did not rise, and the carrying value of debt fell to $4.375 billion [1]. Management said net debt fell by about $211 million and reaffirmed its target of net leverage of about 2.6x by year-end [7]. Holding full-year guidance of $630 million to $650 million implies roughly $314 million to $334 million of adjusted free cash flow in the fourth quarter.
Conclusion
This report weakens the growth case and strengthens the profit conversion case. The revenue decline and the margin gain reflect the same shift: traditional work that is easy to move offshore or automate is leaving, and restructuring cut costs at the same time, so profit held up in the quarter. That offset has limits, because the fourth-quarter margin and cash targets both require revenue declines to stay within guidance. The size of the hyperscale client cuts, whether the new business figure can be verified, and the industry detail and debt principal in the upcoming 10-Q are the key open questions.
