Delivery Hero (DELHY) AI Users Grow Glovo Orders 15%
Summary
Glovo restaurants using Delivery Hero's vendor AI assistant grew orders 15%, but the AI's incremental revenue contribution remains unmeasured.
On August 27, 2026, Delivery Hero (DELHY) said on its second-quarter earnings call that Glovo restaurants using its vendor AI sales assistant grew orders by 15%. The figure covers restaurants using the tool, but the company did not isolate the AI assistant's incremental orders or contribution to Delivery Hero revenue.[1]
Delivery Hero is a local delivery platform group. Its Glovo business connects consumers with restaurants, grocers, supermarkets, and local retailers and organizes on-demand delivery. Delivery Hero's revenue is tied to platform transactions and related services. The vendor AI sales assistant serves restaurant and shop owners, reviewing menu sales performance, customer feedback, and promotion timing to recommend actions that could increase sales. After a merchant approves an action, the assistant makes the change directly through the WhatsApp conversation the merchant already uses. This puts the assistant inside a core merchant sales workflow.[1]
The AI assistant is in limited production
The application has one publicly disclosed milestone. When Delivery Hero first described it on August 27, 2026, the assistant was already in limited production across multiple businesses or regions. The disclosure showed that it could identify sales opportunities, secure merchant approval, and execute changes. Its first public mention is not necessarily its adoption date, however, and does not establish whether an earlier pilot took place.[1]
What the 15% order growth shows
The assistant supported more than 40,000 partners at the time of the disclosure. That figure measures adoption, while the 15% figure measures order growth among Glovo restaurants using the assistant.[1] Delivery Hero did not disclose the measurement period, a pre-use baseline, or a comparable group of restaurants that did not use the tool. The result therefore does not show that the assistant caused all of the growth and cannot be extended to every merchant or market.
If the orders were incremental, the additional platform activity could increase Delivery Hero revenue. But the company did not disclose incremental order value, commission rates, or the associated revenue, and it provided no control group. Self-selection is another possible confounder because merchants that are more active in managing sales may also be more likely to adopt the assistant. The 15% order increase therefore cannot be treated as a 15% increase in Delivery Hero revenue, nor does it support conclusions about profit or staffing needs.
The evidence confirms that the vendor AI assistant can identify opportunities, obtain authorization, and carry out sales actions, and that restaurants using it have a quantified operating result. Connecting that result to Delivery Hero's financial statements would require disclosure of incremental order value versus comparable nonusers and the resulting incremental company revenue. Until then, this remains a limited-production application with an operating result but incomplete revenue attribution.
