Originally a local gas distribution utility, EQT transformed into a pure-play natural gas exploration and production company through strategic divestitures and acquisitions. The company underwent a major strategic transformation in 2024 by acquiring Equitrans Midstream, creating America's only large-scale integrated natural gas company that controls both production and pipeline transportation infrastructure.
